Guns of Cinema Sound Effects by Serafine is a wide ranging sound effects library that offers gun sounds, gun Foley, and indoor / outdoor perspective shots. The library's contents are provided as 16/44.1, 16/48 or 24/48 kHz broadcast wav files for download. It was developed by Frank Serafine and was recorded in cooperation with the Macon County Sheriff Department of Detroit, Michigan. More than 2,100 gun effects were provided from the sheriff's private vaults, ranging from the original "Tommy Gun" and ammo confiscated from the notorious Chicago mob gangster Al Capone, to fully blown modern assault rifles, automatic machine guns, pistols, hand guns, impacts and ricochets. The royalty free sound effects were specifically designed and recorded with continuity and consistency in order to ensure high quality and versatility. The recording sessions were held in indoor shooting ranges and outdoor sites at varying distances, so that each and every circumstance of the gun's use has been captured. Outdoor sites were carefully selected far away from civilization, allowing the gun sounds to be recorded in their most natural form – Guns of Cinema Sound Effects by Serafine.
